Brenda and Paul

Our Story

Paul and Brenda first met in 1987 while attending Calvary Fellowship church in Wallingford. They both played on the same church volleyball team. Little did they know back then what God had in mind for their lives.

Eighteen years later, their paths crossed again while attending Bethany Community Church near Greenlake. Paul started pursuing Brenda in August of 2005, and after two years of falling deeper and deeper in love, they were engaged on August 18, 2007….a moment in time that Brenda will never forget.

After a romantic dinner at Canlis restaurant in Seattle to celebrate their 2nd anniversary, the real fun began. Paul had plotted with the restaurant manager, so after dinner they were given a restaurant tour that ended up on the rooftop for a sweeping view of the city. Paul’s prearrangements included having his trumpet and “the ring” tucked away on the rooftop out of sight. After the manager slipped away, Paul asked Brenda to take a seat. Paul turned around and to Brenda’s complete surprise, took out his trumpet and serenaded her to the tune of "If Ever I Would Leave You," from Camelot.

When the song was through, with Brenda blushing and beaming, Paul got down on one knee and proposed. Brenda was awestruck, and after pausing a moment or two, said yes. Life has definitely not been the same since.

Paul has 2 children. Isaac 13 and Eden 7, and Brenda has taken on the step mom role very graciously and lovingly.

Brenda has been employed for the past 17 years at Seattle City Light as an Administrative Specialist II and Paul is a Technical writer for PaR Nuclear-Ederer working in the Nuclear Crane Division. Paul and Brenda are active in their church. They love family & recreational time, camping, boating, water skiing, volleyball, running, cycling, hiking and just about any outdoor recreation sport. Paul, Brenda and kids love to volunteer at a Christian camp called Esperanza, a camp that serves the First Nations people on the West Vancouver Island coast. They do mission work, building projects, etc. Here's the camp for more information. http://www.esperanza.ca/

They both realize how important their wedding portraits are in capturing their special day. For this reason, they have asked friends and family to consider contributing to their wedding package instead of conventional gifts, as it would mean much more to them. Cost of their wedding package is $1500.

Paul and Brenda would like to thank the Lord for bringing them together, and for their friends and families encouragement, support of their relationship, prayers, and for walking through this new journey in life with them.
