Back in town with a couple of sneak peeks
We arrived back in Seattle safely yesterday after a very long drive. Here are a couple of images from the trip!
Jessica and Kevin, Logan Canyon Utah
Baby Skiley, two weeks old
Seven Pounds and Eleven Ounces
After much anticipation, I was asked to capture Chloe’s newborn baby photos just one week after her birth. I had such a fun time with Becky and Mike at their maternity session and was looking forward to seeing little Chloe before she even arrived. Fresh from the hospital, this new family was beautiful to experience and capture. Chloe has the most perfect tiny round head and smooth clear skin. And her bedroom! I had to capture the green and pink bedroom she was brought home to. Chloe will be at a wedding that I will photograph in May and I am excited to see how much she will have grown!

Below is an image of Chloe’s birth announcements. Becky couldn’t pick which design she liked best so we settled on sending out half and half to Chloe’s family and friends!

Fun with kids!
Today I had the opportunity to capture some kids goofing off at a shared studio in Tacoma with a bunch of other female photographers. We have all been snowed out of recent photo shoots, and unable to wait for sunny weather, we got together to release our creative juices on some very small victims. We split into teams and worked with various lighting situations and captured some super adorable children. The pictures turned out great! I don’t often get a chance to do children’s portraits, except little flower girls and ring bearers, so this turned out to be a really fun morning. Willow and Tami are so great with kids and I learned a lot by watching them. I now know that Simon Says can turn a squeally kid into an active happy kid! =)

Senior Frame Photography
I have been in something of a daze since returning from the Wedding and Portrait Photographer’s Convention in Las Vegas over a week ago. They kept us busy in class or working with other professionals from 8am – 11pm every night! However, I have recovered enough to be able to launch my new specialized high school senior portrait studio! I am currently looking for 2010 graduating seniors that wish to represent our studio and receive a complimentary session and gifts and prizes. For more information, visit our modeling program for information.

Baby Bump Maternity Session
I could not think of a more loving way to spend Valentine’s day than capturing a maternity session. I remember Becky and Mike well from shooting their wedding two and half years ago. Everything is just like it was, except now there is a little girl on her way. I am looking forward to her arrival because they have invited me to capture some newborn photos.
I am now off to Las Vegas to join thousands of nerdy photographers for the Wedding and Portrait Photographers Internation WPPI Convention & Trade Show.

Valentine’s Boudoir Marathon
Now that we’ve passed Valentine’s Day, I am in the clear to post a couple of sessions from the most recent boudoir marathon. The next marathon will be annouced very soon!
The content below contains suggested nudity and is not safe for work. Those who would prefer to skip on by please do so, everyone else enjoy!
Seattle Boudoir Marathon at Hotel Vintage Park
I had five wonderful ladies join me and my assistant for a boudoir marathon at the Hotel Vintage Park in October. The two ladies below graciously allowed me to post some of their pictures. I was also lucky enough to have Junebug Weddings post an article featuring some of my boudoir photographs here. Check it out and leave a comment if you wish!
Senior Portraits in Seattle
I had such a fun time capturing Stuart’s senior portraits, that I was excited when his girlfriend called to have hers done too! They both came together for the shoot. All of these photos were taken just around my office which is located near Woodland Park Zoo.

Senior Session in Seattle
I had the opportunity to shoot a senior session this week with Stuart. Lot’s of fun!

Maternity Session at Discovery Park and Hotel Deca
Marla and Erek were married last fall in November and after I had the opportunity to shoot their wedding, I got a call from Marla to let me know she is expecting! She and her friends, Merritt and Rick (Rick was actually their wedding officiant), are also expecting. So we arranged to do a maternity session with the both of them at Hotel Deca and Discovery Park. I am really excited to capture their little girls when they are born!

Seattle Boudoir Photography
I held a breathless boudoir “marathon” at an amazing hotel suite in Seattle clear back in May. These women graciously gave me permission to share these images. Boudoir images are intimate portraits of yourself and often used as a gift towards your groom, husband, or even to keep for yourself. The next session will be in the fall and I am already collecting a waiting list for the session. If you are interested I would love to add you to the list and notify you when the date has been set. It will be an ideal time if you are looking for a great Christmas gift this year!
My sister’s bridal session
My little sister, Janae, is getting married to a wonderful guy named Michael at the end of the month. I flew down to Utah a few weeks ago to attend a few bridal showers, random wedding festivities, and also to shoot Janae’s bridal and engagement images. She was very accomadating to some of the ideas I had had throughout the shoot — except the shot in front of the dumpster :) We hit a few different locations in Salt Lake City for her bridal session. I am not used to the high winds in Utah which was both fun and challenging!

Ashleigh’s Bridal Session
Ashleigh and I spent six hours Sunday afternoon hitting several locations in Seattle for her bridal shoot. During the shoot we experienced all that Seattle weather has to offer; rain, clouds, hot sun, bright skies, and wind! We started out in the hotel room that I had used for the boudoir marathon a day earlier and then hit Kerry Park, Seattle Center, Fremont Bridge, and Gasworks Park — did I leave anything out?

Trash the dress
Jenna and her new husband Daré were the first to give me the opportunity to “trash the dress.” She held nothing back as we explored some urban/rustic areas and hit the beach. I learned about these amazing sessions from the Trash the Dress blog. Despite the sun in the sky, it was rigidly cold outside and the beach water was no different. It was a true battle of the sexes when Jenna outlasted Daré on the shore’s egde. Thanks again you guys!

Thais
Over the weekend we had our boudoir marathon at a Seattle hotel. It was a lot of fun and we got some great images. Thais, who got married in July, joined us to do a bridal session. It was a lot of fun — we spent some time in the hotel suite, the lobby, and even outside.
Leah
Leah came to her senior session right after soccer practice. The evening light was perfect for this shoot. We spent the entire time around my office — who knew that a one block radius would have such a wealth of opportunities?

We used Leah’s soccer ball in this photo and later discovered it had rolled away. We found it in the middle of Hwy 99 about 100 yards away! Fortunately, the bright orange ball was the thing that got hurt.
Leah’s boyfriend, Darrick, came along… and I took a couple shots of him as I don’t get many opportunities to shoot guys. He did a great job — both as moral support and reflector holder.
Kelly
This weekend I spent some time around my office and nearby Greenlake Park shooting senior photographs for Kelly. Either I’m short, or she’s tall – but I had to stand on a stool for many of the shots. She just got back from spending the summer in Maine – so I don’t know how excited she is to start the school year after a vacation like that – but I wish her the best.

Sara
Labor day was not for play today — I shot 2007-08 senior Sara today after a double-header wedding weekend (images to be posted soon!). Sara is a volley ball player in Shoreline and has a gorgeous smile.

Rebecca
Rebecca had her senior session today. She was Cassandra’s champion a couple of days ago. Rebecca and her friends went out to Victoria the other day. How cool is that? Cassandra and Amanda (Rebecca’s champion today) work for the Victoria Clipper so they got an employee discount. I enjoy rubbing elbows with the higher-end of society :)
I miss the days of going back to school.. the new clothing, shoes, and clean notebooks. The anticipation of new classes, a new year. The boredom of a long summer over. Was it just me? Or did the beginning of the school year have a smell? Hmmm…

Cassandra
Cassandra is one of my senior reps for the 2007-2008 school year. School starts next week so I have a rush of a few seniors before that first day! I love shooting in the evening on sunny days. So much fun!

I love the flare!

Teena
Today’s senior was Teena. It was sooo much nicer to shoot in the sunny part of the evening — as opposed to the rain last weekend.

Carlee Cefaratt
A rainy Seattle afternoon, distinct fixtures at Gas Works Park, and a wonderful High School Senior named Carlee — three elements that created this unique photo shoot.
If you happen to have the album cover from Evanescence hanging around, you might just discover where I got my inspiration.
Jennifer
Jennifer took advantage of our breathless sessions to build her modeling portfolio. She also joined us for our last session. Isn’t she amazing?

Katy’s Intimate Portraits
Today I shot some boudoir portraits of one of my favorite summer brides. She was kind and allowed me to post an image. Does she look amazing or what? You should see the rest of her shots?.it?s too bad we can’t keep Matt off the blog! He’s going to love his wedding gift…
