Sanders Mansion Wedding | Mandi and Chris
You may remember Mandi and Chris from their delightfully quirky Photo Booth, or their unique engagement shoot at Safeco Field.
Baseball was an inspirational force in their engagement shoot, wedding, and their life together. It only took minutes being surrounded by their friends, family, and baseball decorations at the wedding to see they’re a couple who are perfect for each other and clearly adore one another.
To make it distinctly “theirs”, Mandi and Chris used baseball, vintage themes, and the movie “The Natural” to help inspire their wedding colors and textures. In fact, the scoreboard you’ll see in the gallery below now overlooks their backyard. Their wedding & reception was held at Sanders Mansion.
I asked Mandi for advice for future couples, to which she replied:
Wait until you are ready…we waited 14 years and although that’s longer than most, our wedding was FUN. Have fun and roll with the punches. Make your wedding what YOU want it to be but if people you care about want something in the wedding, what does it hurt to do that for them? Nothing will happen as you expect it, nothing will be perfect but if it’s right it will be amazing regardless.
Thanks Mandi & Chris for sharing your story, advice, and pictures!

Waterways Wedding | Genevieve and Russell
When you think of something distinctly Seattle, what you conjure up probably includes images of Lake Washington, the downtown skyline, Bill Gate’s mansion, and Lake Union set against the backdrop of Gasworks Park. Now add cocktail hour on a cruise, a live Mariachi band, and dancing and what you’ve got is not just a great party, but Gen and Russ’s wedding.
Gen and Russ met at a release party for the Denver magazine 5280. Each had a friend who was featured in the February issue as one of the “20 Sexy Denver Singles.” Apparently not one to hold a grudge against their friends for being featured, they met, had their first date a week later, and have been happily together ever since.
At the time of their wedding (June 27th), Gen and Russ had only been living in Seattle for a year. They knew many of their guests would be traveling in from out of state, so to showcase Seattle’s beautiful water and skyline views, they chose Seattle Waterways Cruises for their ceremony and reception venue. As the pictures and Gen will attest to, they did a wonderful job to make the evening a uniquely Seattle experience that I’m sure helped convince the guests of what we all know deep down inside — that Seattle is the best place to live. :) (I might be prejudiced…)
Gen and her girls started their morning at the salon for hair styling and then at finished their makeup and got dressed at Gen’s spectacular apartment on Lake Union. We all met up with Russ and his groomsmen at Gasworks Park for photographs. The ceremony took place on Lakeside with views of the Seattle Skyline and a close friend officiating. The cocktail hour immediately followed on a cruise around Lake Union and Lake Washington. That’s when we got a little tour of Bill Gate’s home, from the shore of course. I’m sure Bill was looking out wishing he could join the party. Upon returning, the couple was greeted with a live Mariachi band! Dinner, toasts, and dancing followed.
I’m going to save the details and pictures for a special blog post – but Gen and Russ also had a Hindu ceremony after their traditional ceremony. It was absolutely beautiful, so I think it deserves to be showcased separately.
Gen’s advice to bride’s: Enjoy the wedding process and especially the wedding day. Though it can be stressful, try not to take it too seriously so you can enjoy it.

Seattle Edgewater Wedding | Heather and Tom
Early on in the summer I fell behind blogging each wedding and the longer it went, the more overwhelming it became to catch up! I decided to focus on my clients and attend to their needs first and delay posting weddings until the end of the season. Now that the wedding season is winding down, I will begin to post a wedding each week with information that might be helpful in wedding planning.
Heather and Tom were married on July 11th at the St. Ignatius Chapel with a reception following at the Edgewater Hotel in downtown. They first met at Seattle University (just steps from the chapel where they eventually married) and then had to endure 4 years apart when Tom moved to Utah to pursue a degree in Computer Science. They reunited when Tom moved back to Seattle and have been joined at the hip since. Tom proposed on a beach at sunset while camping in California.
Heather and Tom value their friends and family more than anything, so they planned their wedding in a way to give their guests the best celebration possible. They also had a strict budget to abide to and took advantage of my gift registry which allowed their friends and family to help pay for a significant portion of their photography package.
They started their morning with preparation at their homes. Heather’s makeup and hair were done by her sister, Courtney Mitchelle, who is a stylist at Wild Root Salon. Heather arrived at the chapel for a last moments of preparation and Tom arrived shortly after that. They chose not to see each other before the ceremony and leave all family and wedding party pictures for later. Tom’s family paster from Salt Lake City Utah, Father Peter Rogers, flew all the way up to Seattle to officiate their ceremony. All nine of us (Heather, Tom, and their attendants) climbed into a limo and we took some photos at Alki Beach and along the downtown piers before joining up with guests at the Edgewater Hotel. The reception was fast paced with with a lot of fun and spectacular views of the Sound.
Heather’s advice to future brides is to “stay calm and embrace the moments that go into planning your big day. BE SURE to take time to enjoy each others company and NOT talk about the wedding – its hard but its worth it!”

Wedding Preview from Seattle
Heather and Tom had a BEAUTIFUL wedding today. It had to be the busiest day EVER in Seattle, I heard that pirates even dropped in for a visit! I am so excited to share a glimpse captured near the Seattle pier.

Wedding at St. Ignatius and Lake Union
Vilija and Trevor were married at the St. Ignatius Chapel with a reception following at the Lake Union Crew. Vilija and her bridesmaids got ready at the Silver Cloud Hotel just across the street. It was fun walking with them to the chapel and setting up their first look. After their beautiful Catholic Mass, we headed to Gasworks park for some quick photos of just the two of them. Take particular notice of the wedding cake as Trevor actually made it from scratch and decorated it! It happens to be the only cake I have ever tasted at a wedding. These two skipped on a honeymoon as they have already moved to Texas to start their married lives together.

Wedding season must have begun!
Here I thought wedding season was not going to truly start until July, but since it’s been hard keeping up on everything (let alone blogging it), I herby declare that wedding season has arrived this Solstice weekend!
Here are a few peeks to some work that is in progress, such as Vilija and Trevor at Gasworks Park:

Meredith and Luke at Carkeek Park

And not to forget, Mindy and Ben at Olympic Sculpture Park

A One Year Anniversary
This beautiful couple was married one year ago today at the Greenlake Crosspoint Church and with a reception following at Women’s University Club.
Happy Anniversary!

Brittanie and Dustin in Sumner
Brittanie and Dustin’s wedding must have been the coolest on the block for the kids that attended because they had an inflatable play set! The wedding took place in Sumner at a very close friend’s property. I first met Brittanie and Dustin at Becky and Mike’s Wedding almost two years ago! I have recently captured their maternity and newborn session. I met with Brittanie just before her wedding and you will not believe it, but she had broke her ankle! I knew that she was an amazing person to the core because she didn’t lose spirit and still even wore her red high heels at the wedding.

Tacoma Museum of Glass
Megan and Asher were married one year ago today at the Tacoma Museum of Glass. Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary!
Dianna and Michael were married at the Fairmont Olympic hotel one year ago today! Happy Anniversary!

Wedding at Heritage Hall
Leanna and Erik met by chance through friends and had a very long distance relationship… all the way from Seattle to Norway. Their Seattle wedding was intimately shared with close family and friends at the Heritage Hall in Kirkland. They are planning a second wedding in Norway to celebrate with Erik’s family and friends. Leanna and her two sisters started at the Woodmark Hotel to get ready. We took advantage of the beautiful scenery for some quick photo opportunities at the docks. Leanna’s son was full of energy and excitement throughout the wedding day. The rain storm held off until dinner started, which couldn’t have made for a more beautiful day. I am sure Leanna and Erik are having a great time in Maui right now soaking up golden tans and sinking their feet in warm sand!

Wedding at the Canal
Happy Anniversary to Cara and Tim who got hitched one year ago at the Canal in Ballard.

Rehearsal dinner at Benihana
Happy Anniversary to Annie and Ryan! This is an image from their rehearsal dinner at Benihana in downtown Seattle one year ago.

Pioneer Park Pavilion Wedding
Kara and Ben were married at the United Methodist Church in Puyallup with a reception following nearby at Pioneer Park Pavilion. I began by capturing some of the moments while Kara was getting ready. When I found Ben he was already clothed and ready to start! So once Kara had finished the final touches of her preparation, we had their first glance moment in the hallway of the church. I had a great time shooting with the wedding party, bride and groom, and family. The ceremony was beautiful and I just love Kara and Ben’s expressions as the exited the church. We then zipped over to the reception site. The cake was gorgeous, the food delicious, and the dancing was a blast!

Get Hitched Give Hope
Hey everyone, I hope I see you all at Get Hitched, Give Hope event tomorrow at the Arctic Club Hotel in downtown Seattle. You might see me running around spotting bidders during the live auction event! Even if you are not planning a wedding, there will also be non-wedding things for you to do and bid on and win! Everything will be donated to Brides Against Breast Cancer and the Making Memories Foundation.
It’s too late to buy tickets online but tickets will be available at the door. See you there!
Kensington Gardens
Tammy and Andy were married at Kensington Gardens in Gig Harbor. The day started out a little dreary with a forecast of rain so plans were made to hold the reception inside. However, it quickly became a beautiful day so the ceremony was moved outside at the last moment. It was gorgeous! Tammy and Andy are world travelers so instead of table numbers, they decided to make each table a destination they had visited. After the reception we stopped at the Tacoma Waterfront for some pictures of just the two of them. Congrats guys! Oh and did I mention Tammy’s killer shoes?

North Creek Prespyterian Church
Diana and Aaron were married at the North Creek Prespyterian Church in Mill Creek. I really enjyed getting to know both of them at their engagement session at Pike Place Market. They were so sweet the entire day and I don’t think Diana ever had one single Bridezilla moment — or some Briditude as I prefer to say.
Diana and Aaron opted to see each other before the ceremony so we could have plenty of time for pictures. We set up a first glance moment and then we took all of the pictures right in the parking lot. Sometimes you don’t need pretty places to make pretty pictures! I fell in love with her dress and the details. The reception followed in an ajoining room in the church and they did an incredible job with the decorations, it was like stepping into a new venue. The food included a sushi bar which I thought was just spectacular.

The ringer bearer and flower girl were the best preformers I have ever seen, really.
