Whitefish, MT
This past weekend my husband and I went to Whitefish, Montana by rail to visit my family. My parents moved to Whitefish last fall so that my father could run an art gallery out there. We had a blast. It was difficult to get back on that train. It is a beautiful area with Glacier National Park nearby. We went paddle boating and fishing on Lake McDonald.

Jennifer
Jennifer took advantage of our breathless sessions to build her modeling portfolio. She also joined us for our last session. Isn’t she amazing?

Painterly Effects
As some of you may know, and many may not, I used to be an oil painter. My father runs a fine art gallery and is probably wincing as he reads this post! I purchased a software called PainterX produced by Corel. I used Becky and Mike as my first subjects and here is my very first stab at photopainting. I have always been drawn to impressionist art and so I tried to incorporate that influence here. My hope is that some of my lucky brides and grooms will be interested in a painted canvas portrait of their wedding day. Let me know what you think!

Nathan and Rachel Engagement Session
Nathan and Rachel are having a small wedding on Orcas Island this summer. I was married on Orcas Island myself so I look forward to the four weddings I get to capture there this year. The flowers were in full bloom at the arboretum in Seattle making for a very picturesque setting. These guys have such an obvious love for each other and it is evident in the pictures.

Congratulations Nath and Mark!
Nath (pronounced “not”) and Mark were married on May 12th at McMillin Grange Hall in Puyallup, WA. I arrived early and got to capture their Laotion Ceremony which was followed by an American Ceremony. Cute couple!

Jack Daniels anyone?

One Year Cellebration!
My husband and I have officially been married for a year! In celebration we boarded the “Spirit of Washington” dinner train. The train advertises that it goes 25mph all the way up to the Columbia Winery, and back down again. However, upon boarding, they informed us all that it would be a “leisurely 10mph” ride due to technical difficulties — and we wouldn’t be able to visit the winery. “Leisurely” probably isn’t the word to use — painfully slow is more like it. Regardless, it was a lot of fun and I look forward to many more years with Dana.

Starlight Prom
As an active member of the Seattle Professional Photographer’s association, I periodically get the opportunity to volunteer my photography services. On Saturday I got a chance to capture some candid moments of the Starlight Prom at the Embassy Suites. These photos will be used for PR purposes. Starlight Starbright is an organization providing education, entertainment and family events that improve the quality of life for children with chronic and life threatening medical conditions before, during and after treatment. Starlight Starbright Washington touches the lives of over 6,000 children and their families each month. The prom is intended to help these energetic teens particpate in life events that all teens should experience.

Denise, Darrick, & Family Engagement
The weekend started in Kerry Park at Queen Anne’s notorious vantage point of the Seattle Skyline. We took some engagement shots of the soon-to-be Harker family in July. Their little daugher was such a ham! I look forward to capturing her as a flower girl.
