Thank you from Shari and Rick

I was en route to Trinidad all day yesterday…I spoke to Rick in the
airport in Atlanta and he said to me in a very excited voice,”Guess what I’m
looking at right now?!? Our wedding photos and slide show!” I was SO
excited to see it all but I had to wait until after midnight to finally view
it. And only tonight have I had the opportunity to really look at it all in
detail. Thank you SO very much for giving us possibly the best wedding gift
we could have ever gotten, the most beautiful portfolio of images from our
elopement. We are finding that it is indeed not only very special to Rick
and I, but also to our family and friends, since they were not there to
witness the event. Thank you also for giving me the first “nice” photos of
myself in a very long time! There are so many that I love, I’m nearly in
tears re-living that beautiful day…Especially since I’ve had to go away
for over a month just after getting married. All I want to do is be home
with my new husband, but at least I now have these terrific reminders of our
wedding day. Thank you seems not enough, but thank you. You have a true
gift, and we were so lucky to have you there to capture the magic of that
day for us!

With sincere thanks,

Shari

xYeah for Shari and Rick!!!

My new office!

I just secured my own personal office. Historically I have shared an office with my dear husband and recently we have begun to feel growing pains. This was evident by a strict guideline of boundaries and the fear of each other “encroaching” on *our* space. So when this teeny tiny (and I mean microscopic) space right next door became available, we checked it out. And whoolah! I have space for my desk and meetings with clients. So all of you that have just been dying to look at the latest and greatest of our albums and products — give me a call and I would love to show you! That is, of course, once I get some paint on those walls and carpet on the floor.

It is located just south of Woodland Park Zoo and Green Lake on Highway 99 and is easily accessible by both car and by bus. Many of my senior sessions are done within a one block radius of this place and it is a short drive to many other great portrait locations.

Rebecca

Rebecca had her senior session today. She was Cassandra’s champion a couple of days ago. Rebecca and her friends went out to Victoria the other day. How cool is that? Cassandra and Amanda (Rebecca’s champion today) work for the Victoria Clipper so they got an employee discount. I enjoy rubbing elbows with the higher-end of society :)

I miss the days of going back to school.. the new clothing, shoes, and clean notebooks. The anticipation of new classes, a new year. The boredom of a long summer over. Was it just me? Or did the beginning of the school year have a smell? Hmmm…

Some past images…

Cassandra

Cassandra is one of my senior reps for the 2007-2008 school year. School starts next week so I have a rush of a few seniors before that first day! I love shooting in the evening on sunny days. So much fun!

I love the flare!

Elana and Jim

Elana and Jim were married this weekend at Pebble Cove Farm on Orcas Island. These two researched the Farmer’s Almanac and talked to Kayak guides to pick the wedding day most unlikely to rain, however the uncertainty of the Northwest climate was evident by a very rainy morning. Luckily (or perhaps meant-to-be) the clouds parted and these two had the most beautiful backdrop for a perfectly orchestrated ceremony and a moonlit reception.

It took five party team to move Elana’s dress from the car to the room through the rain…

Thank you from Nathan and Rachel

A thank you note from Nathan and Rachel who are honeymooning in Greece…

Granted there are an abundance of beautiful things floating into Rachel and my sensory perception at the moment, your email just about pushed us to the point of tears. Thank you again for your beautiful work–we cannot wait to see the rest, to order more photos, and to reflect on our wonderful day for years to come.

Amidst so many ancient domestic artifacts over here in Greece, I wonder what museums of the future will say about our lives with such passionate images of our daily lives like those you have created for Rachel and I.

Thanks again,
Nathan and Rachel

Heather and Phil

Heather and Phillip were married at St Paul’s Chapel in Port Gamble this morning. It was a truly picturesque setting for a morning wedding. The church was built in 1879 and overlooks Gamble Bay.

This little guy was such a ham! He was a very diligent usher.

Heather’s daughters participated in the unity candle ceremony.

Ashley and Brandon

Ashley and Brandon were married in the Seattle LDS temple today. What a beautiful pair! I grew up in Utah and so this is little more like what I am used to! :) After I shot the whole slew of family, I took some portraits of the couple.

Here they are coming out of the temple doors…

Shari and Rick

Shari and Rick eloped to Orcas Island on Sunday from San Diego. You wouldn’t know that these guys have been together for over 14 years by these photographs — they were all giggles and a lot of love. The colors are amazing on Orcas Island! We did some preparation shots and portraits at Rosario Resort and then had the ceremony at the Orcas Island Pottery. Finally, we took some shots in front of a spectacular view atop Mount Constitution. It was certainly a photographer’s dream to have so much time devoted to romantic couple portraits — and these guys were great sports and even got into a hammock!

Becky and Mike

Becky and Mike got married at the Farm Kitchen in Poulsbo. Mike is a fisherman and so you may notice some ways they incorporated the theme, including having the ring bearers carry the rings at the end of two fishing poles.

Becky is practicing her vows…

Rachel and Nathan

It was back to the Island for Rachel and Nathan’s wedding. Rachel was such a calm, sweet bride. I was amazed that she was so attentive to me — the photographer! Rachel got ready in a fabulous room at the Rosario overlooking the bay. After the ceremony at the Victorian Valley Chapel, the family had a quiet upscale dinner at the Inn at Ship Bay. The hor doeuvres were delicious! I enjoy small, intimate weddings such as this one as they are just so romantic and relaxed. Nathan and Rachel are enjoying a 2 week stay in Greece!

Getting into the dress was quite an adventure!

With the following images I attempted to isolate the couple by blowing out and underexposing the background. I think it worked out well. They are so into each other!

Allison and Eric

Allison and Eric were married on Sunday at the Edgewater hotel in Seattle. It was truly a beautiful and well-orchestrated wedding. The couple is currently enjoying a week-long honeymoon to Hawaii! Best wishes!
