Breathless books
Are you unsure about what to get your groom? Wedding boudoir images are one of the hottest wedding trends this year… and I am now offering a 3×3 lipstick red leather album or a 7×7 coffee table book with jacket! It is a fantastic gift for your groom on your wedding night or perhaps just a random surprise in his jacket pocket.
The next marathon boudoir session is on October 13th and 14th. All sessions include the digital images on a disk and a private online gallery.

Leah
Leah came to her senior session right after soccer practice. The evening light was perfect for this shoot. We spent the entire time around my office — who knew that a one block radius would have such a wealth of opportunities?

We used Leah’s soccer ball in this photo and later discovered it had rolled away. We found it in the middle of Hwy 99 about 100 yards away! Fortunately, the bright orange ball was the thing that got hurt.
Leah’s boyfriend, Darrick, came along… and I took a couple shots of him as I don’t get many opportunities to shoot guys. He did a great job — both as moral support and reflector holder.
Kelly
This weekend I spent some time around my office and nearby Greenlake Park shooting senior photographs for Kelly. Either I’m short, or she’s tall – but I had to stand on a stool for many of the shots. She just got back from spending the summer in Maine – so I don’t know how excited she is to start the school year after a vacation like that – but I wish her the best.

Thank you from Becky and Mike
We absolutely LOVE THEM! They were exactly what I was wanting when I was
imagining our wedding pics. You captured our day perfectly forever for us
THANK-YOU! I will always recommend you when people need a photographer, you
were so easy going to work with and you made it simple for us on the big
day. I hope to have you do more photos for us in the future such as family
portraits….Thank-you so much again.

Kelli and Brian
Kelli and Brian were married in Maple Valley, WA at the Lake Wilderness Lodge on Sunday. The ceremony was outside overlooking the lake. It was a very bright, sunshiny day.

Kelli’s pre-wedding jitters…
I shot this wedding with Melissa Fargo from LA. While she captured the processional, I got to sneak in and capture this moment between Kelli and her father before walking down the aisle.

Kelli’s brother brought the room to tears with his toast to the bride and groom. And he didn’t even say a word.

Lindsay and Peter
Lindsay and Peter were marred at the Episcopal Church on Orcas Island Saturday. It was built in 1885 and was one of the first original buildings built on Orcas Island. It has cathedral ceilings and was a fantastic location for a religious ceremony. The reception followed at Odd Fellows Hall just a block away. Both the church and Hall overlooked the bay and made for some fantastic images.

Lindsay overlooked the water view while waiting for Peter to arrive (eyes closed) for his first glance of her. They had a special moment alone by the water.

We finished family pictures two hours before the ceremony so I was able to play around with the bridal party for a little while. I love the dramatic shadows.
The ceremony…

The reception hall was decorated with ducks. I asked Lindsay and Peter what the significance of the ducks were — apparently Peter is a devoted (some claim obsessive) duck hunter. I felt it fitting to take a picture of the rings on the beak of one of the ducks.

Kassie and Andy
Kassie and Andy were married at the Kitsap Memorial State Park in Paulsbo, WA. Seem familiar? Kassie’s sister Molly and her husband, Eric were married there exactly one year ago on September 2nd. Kassie and Molly’s Dad opened his toast with “I am glad you came, we do this every year.” I was pleased that Kassie asked me to come back to capture her wedding.
Even though it was at the same location, Kassie and Andy made the ceremony and reception unique and entirely their own. They are such a goofy couple and I enjoyed getting to know them.

I love Andy’s adoring facial expression as Kassie walks through the woods with her father…

The ring pillow was passed around so that everyone could impart their blessing onto it as Eric sang “Ave Marie”

Aimee and Jason
Aimee and Jason were married on September 1st in Poulsbo, WA at the Farm Kitchen. I can not say enough wonderful things about these two. The entire day (although high in stress!) was very well planned and touching.
The girls got ready at the Silverday Beach Hotel. The first thing that jolted me when I walked in the door was the Cougars game on the big wide screen TV. I had to make sure I was really in the girls room. But then I noticed all of the shoes, dresses, curling irons, make-up tackle boxes, and fresh fruit and I knew I was in the right place.

This little flower girl was given the task of writing a love poem for Aimee to give to Jason. Wow! What a sweet poem!

This is Jason after getting ready in the grooms cottage. Little side note, the Farm Kitchen has this little red cottage across a field from the main reception site where the groom and groomsmen get ready. Aimee wanted to make sure I got a portrait of him before the cermony.

Gorgeous red flowers…

The girls were a riot…

so were the guys…

The ceremony was so picturesque in front of the blooming gardens.

This is the reception site from across the flower garden.

Aimee is an eigth grade school teacher and during the ceremony the officator read some of the kid’s advice on having a good marriage. I loved the comments like, “let the husband watch sports” and “no matter what, the girl is always right.” After the ceremony they had the guests write some more marital advice on paper hearts and pin them up. Some were super sweet, and many were rather hilarious.

First dance at sunset..

And the biggest surprise of the day — Aimee’s father arranged for some huge Forth-of-July fireworks to go off during the toasts. The guests were in awe. I ran behind the couple and caught this shot of them looking up at the show.

Congratulations Aimee and Jason!
Sara
Labor day was not for play today — I shot 2007-08 senior Sara today after a double-header wedding weekend (images to be posted soon!). Sara is a volley ball player in Shoreline and has a gorgeous smile.
