Thank you from Kevin and Beth
I just recieved a sweet thank you note in the mail today from Kevin and Beth…
Dear Cheryl,
We can’t thank you enough for taking the beautiful photos of our wedding (and engagement)! You are an amazing photographer, and we will recommend you to all of our friends!
Thanks again,

Megan and Asher’s Engagement Session
Megan took advantage of one of my boudoir marathons last Spring and the moment she got engaged she called to inquire about her wedding date. I have ALWAYS wanted to do an engagement session in the industrial part of Seattle along the railroad lines and these guys suggested it before I even mentioned it! We started out in pioneer square and then headed down to the railroad tracks and got some great shots in the twilight hours. Asher is a graffiti artist from NYC and had some awesome ideas and clothes for the shoot. I look forward to shooting your wedding this May!

Asher’s artwork is on display at the Doc Maynard’s Lounge in Pioneer Square. If you get a chance, go check it out, it really rocks.

Lisa and Bruce’s wedding at Carnegies
Lisa and Bruce were married on Sunday, December 9th at the Carnegies restaurant in Ballard. I had the wonderful opportunity to “scout out” the location about a month ago by having dinner there with my husband… and oh my, it was such a delicious meal! The French onion soup is to DIE for.
Anyways, back to Lisa and Bruce… The day started out with small flakes of snow that dusted their yard. Lisa, her sister, and maid of honor spent the morning laughing and reminiscing as they prepared for the wedding. Lisa did not wear a tradition gown, but wore a very elegant blouse and pants. The rest of the evening followed in a similar non-tradition cozy way. They had a small intimate ceremony and a boisterous dinner afterwards. I even hear they went bowling afterwards — how cool! Thank you Lisa and Bruce! And also to all the guests that braved the frigid cold to have their picture taken outside!
The makeup for the bride and bridesmaids was done by Elizabeth Uehara.

Trash the dress
Jenna and her new husband Daré were the first to give me the opportunity to “trash the dress.” She held nothing back as we explored some urban/rustic areas and hit the beach. I learned about these amazing sessions from the Trash the Dress blog. Despite the sun in the sky, it was rigidly cold outside and the beach water was no different. It was a true battle of the sexes when Jenna outlasted Daré on the shore’s egde. Thanks again you guys!

New blog (!!!) and studio shoot
Today is really shaping up in a super fun day! I am excited to launch this NEW, BIGGER and BETTER blog! My favorite new feature will be the ability to leave comments. This blog is looking pretty bare, so if you see something you like, please drop a line a or two! Sometimes my amazing genius comes out (much less frequently than I would prefer) and today was such a day — I was able to import all of my older posts.
Also, my good friend Larry Kim opened a new studio in South Seattle. He invited me over and introduced me to Sarah Rhoads (a super amazing photographer) and we got to play for a little while. Unfortunately we didn’t have any specimens to shoot, so we had to take pictures of ourselves.
And finally, the best part of all — I got to shoot my first “trash the dress session” with Jenna and Dare. I was so stoked and just thrilled with the sunny weather. So check back soon to see the session.

Figgy Pudding!
I have mentioned it before, but it is worth repeating…. the best way to get into the Holiday Spirit this year is at the The Great Figgy Pudding Street Corner Caroling Competition!
Details: Friday, December 7, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:30 PM!!! @ the Westlake Mall in downtown Seattle.
The Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition is one of the most looked-forward-to holiday events in Seattle, attracting over 5,000 attendees every year. 40+ caroling teams compete in this zany competition where you will see everything from dancing lawyers, to costumed co-workers, to Von Trapp-like families. This event benefits the Pike Market Senior Center and Food bank. All of the carolers will have a hat or box in front for donations, stuff your pockets with dollar bills and let them know you appreciate their efforts! Dress warm as it is usually freezing at this event.
This is a great Christmas event! Don’t miss it!
