Alaina and Doug’s Engagement Session in Saint Edwards Park

I met Alaina and Doug at Saint Edwards Park in Kenmore for their engagement session. Their upcoming wedding will be located in a private cove nestled in the park. It was a beautiful day on Sunday. I just loved how the light spilled through the trees and fell on Alaina and Doug. Congratulations and I look forward to your weddding!

Dianna and Her Prince — Fairmont Olympic Hotel

Dianna and Michael were married at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle. It was such a gorgeous wedding! Dianna was not interested in images of her preparation, so I got to see her the first time after she was entirely ready. She was absolutely stunning in her wedding dress and I think her bridesmaids thought so too. We had such a blast getting shots of the wedding party. I loved the colors of the dresses Dianna’s bridesmaids wore. The Fairmont Olympic Hotel is simply the most beautiful and classic location I have encountered in Seattle. Dianna and Michael had so many dear friends and family that shared in the joy of their wedding day. Enjoy the preview images!

Janae and Michael’s Engagement Session and Guest Book

We hit a little ghost town for Janae and Michael’s engagment session. Corinne, Utah began in about 1868 as a “gentile” city amongst many surrounding towns of the Mormon Church. The town flourished for only a few years, and then ended in 1903 when the main road into Corrine was rerouted and bypassed the town. However, there are still a lot of great places to see (and shoot) such as railroads, a merchantile store, a church, and many old rustic buildings. We had great time! Below are images from their engagement session and also a few images of their guestbook. The guestbook is 9×12 inches with 20 pages and many many lines for guests to sign their names.

My sister’s bridal session

My little sister, Janae, is getting married to a wonderful guy named Michael at the end of the month. I flew down to Utah a few weeks ago to attend a few bridal showers, random wedding festivities, and also to shoot Janae’s bridal and engagement images. She was very accomadating to some of the ideas I had had throughout the shoot — except the shot in front of the dumpster :) We hit a few different locations in Salt Lake City for her bridal session. I am not used to the high winds in Utah which was both fun and challenging!

Margot and Chris’s Engagement Session at the University of Washington

Margot just could not stop grinning throughout the entire engagement session. Margot and I met up with Chris after class on a Friday afternoon — so kudos to Chris for being able to make it through yet another hour of walking around campus, taking pictures no less! These guys needed no prompting and just fell comfortably into each other’s arms in every picture. Their wedding in June will be something special.

Ashleigh’s Bridal Session

Ashleigh and I spent six hours Sunday afternoon hitting several locations in Seattle for her bridal shoot. During the shoot we experienced all that Seattle weather has to offer; rain, clouds, hot sun, bright skies, and wind! We started out in the hotel room that I had used for the boudoir marathon a day earlier and then hit Kerry Park, Seattle Center, Fremont Bridge, and Gasworks Park — did I leave anything out?

Brenda and Paul’s Engagement Session at Kerry Park Seattle

Brenda and Paul instantly won me over with their energy in planning a dream wedding. Every detail has been meticulously thought out and reflects who they truly are — a spirited, energetic couple. Our first meeting lasted almost 2 hours as we talked about their plans and their story together. Paul’s little girl came along for the engagement session. She has such an incredible voice and sings for a local children’s choir. I can’t wait for their wedding in June!

Tammy and Andy Engaged – Discovery Park

The Wedding season is approaching fast and this week will be a busy one! It started it out with Tammy and Andy’s engagement session at Discovery Park. The morning started out beautiful so we were surprised by the colder afternoon. It did not rain, however, and that was certainly welcomed. We had a great time! Andy grew up in Magnolia so Discovery Park is among his favorite places. We hit meadows, views of the Puget Sound, and historic Fort Lawton. The sun broke through for a second and we were able to get a few shots in before it suddenly disappeared. I love shooting engagement sessions as it allows me to get to know my couples a little bit better before the wedding day, such as the fact that Andy prefers the right side of his face in photos. Ya, I can’t tell a difference either. Congratulations you guys! I look forward to your September wedding.
